On October 31st the Russian A321 airliner, flight 7K9268, crashed in Egypt en route from Sharm el-Sheikh to Saint-Petersburg. Everyone on board, 224 people in total, crew members and passengers including women and children, perished.


The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin signed an Executive Order declaring November 1st a Day of Mourning. Russian national flags are to be lowered throughout the country and in Russia's missions abroad.

A Book of Condolences will be open at the Embassy between 09:00-17:00 on November 2nd.
