Yevgeny Primakov died on 26 June of 2015 at the age of 85. He was an outstanding political, government and public figure of our time, a world famous Russian politician and diplomat who was Prime Minister of Russia in the dire period from 1998 to 1999.
Mr. Primakov also served as a Foreign Minister in 1996-1998. He is widely regarded as the person who made a significant contribution towards laying the foundations of Russia’s current foreign policy, increasing its prestige and influence on the global arena. It was he who as a true visionary first formulated and defined the principle of multipolarity. This concept has withstood the test of time and today it is clear that there are no alternatives.
Mr. Primakov was also a prominent expert on Middle Eastern politics, an academician and a member of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
