Russian Film Week in the Republic of South Africa

        Russian Embassy in the Republic of South Africa with great pleasure announces that a Russian Film Week will be held in Johannesburg on 22-25 October 2015. Among the organizers of the event are the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, Russian Embassy in the Republic of South Africa, Producer Center “Kinofest”, OKNO African Tours company. The Film Week will open with a gala ceremony on 22 October, screenings of modern Russian movies will be held throughout the event as well as meetings of Russian filmmakers with the audience and foreign colleagues. The Film Week is aimed at strengthening of bilateral relations in the field of culture and cinematography between Russia and the RSA.

         Following Russian famous filmmakers are participating in the event: producer Natalia Mokritskaya, directorsAlexander Kott and Eugene Abizov, actors Egor Beroev, Michael Gorevoy and  Denis Shvedov.

         Following modern Russian movies of different genres are included in the screening program. “Battle for Sevastopol” (Directed by Sergey Mokritskiy, 2015); “Champions” (dir. Dmitry Dyuzhev, Artem Aksenenko, Alexey Vakulov, Emil Nikogosyan, 2014); “Battalion (dir. Dmitriy Meskhiev, 2014); “Yolki 1914” (dir. Timur Bekmambetov, Yuriy Bykov, Aleksandr Karpilovskiy, Dmitriy Kiselev, Aleksandr Kott, Ekaterina Telegina, Andrey Kavun, Olga Harina, Zaur Zaseev, 2014); “Territory” (dir. Aleksandr Melnik, 2014); “Speak of the Devil” (dir. Eugene Abizov, 2014); “Iron Ivan” (dir. Gleb Orlov, 2012).

         Gala opening ceremony of the Russian Film Week and film screenings will be held at cinema complex “Montecasino" (Montecasino, William Nicol Dr & Witkoppen Rd, Sandton, Johannesburg) from October 22nd to October 25th 2015.
